Today is your glass half full or half empty?

Are you one of those people who Murphy seems to take a particular liking for?  Seems like some can never get out of his radar... I seem to be one.
Well, after an adventurous return trip home, where I learned the value of true human kindness. A rarity these days indeed.
Let us begin with the beginning of the adventure, shall we...

Rewind back to November 2012.. I bought my dream car.. straight out. While used it was in great shape, a little TLC and she would have lasted for years. A 325i BMW... now please note I am more of a Jeep person, but the way this little car handled reminded me to keep all options open.
I had this little beauty for three months before a herd of deer decided it was time to stage a protest in the center of the street at 8:30 pm dark thirty. All cleared my path but one who thought she could handle the BMW alone... sadly she did. Totaled the car, but all inside were unharmed. Unfortunately the deer became a  martyr for her cause.

So after the insurance rectified the situation and sent me my funds to get on the road again, I bought a car through a friend. Now this car was offered to me free...but being the type I am I insisted on paying something so not to take advantage of a friend.

Payment made, with promises of title being sent to me I returned to home A, only to end up waiting for the title, and explanations of title searches needing to be performed... so in good faith I added insurance to the "White Lady", the car that has yet to tell me her name.

Arriving at Home 2, the White Lady and I began our southern adventures... new job, new home, working out the new game plan. With 3 mouths to feed not counting the 2 four legged ones... it promised unending opportunities for "forks in the road".

Moved in part of my goods from Home 1, without electricity first night; sleeping on the floors, camping undergraduate style. Then, by the good graces, was "given" a mattress set, a desk set, a table, a tv, an antennae, a couple of blankets, and tv stand.  With full fridge, things were looking up.
The job is great, and plans were happening. A bit different from the stalemate I left behind. Soon we settled into a routine, roommates looked for work, I worked, we cleaned and ate together.
We began to take walks and try to eat healthier. Red meat is now a visitor rather than the norm on our table.

After a few weeks of this routine, it was time to return to Home 1, for more living essentials. A few days before I was scheduled to leave, the battery died in "White Lady", in the middle of a busy road. Thank goodness for the local auto shop. They tested the battery and confirmed it dead, then replaced it. As the battery was new, just purchased when we bought "White Lady", I was going to return it to the store of purchase, a national one whose policy stated on their corporate website that returns were no problem, they guaranteed satisfaction.
Upon arrival to the store, we were told the battery only needed charging, yet two other competitors confirmed a dead cell within the battery. Now I am beginning to get upset. They would only offer an even exchange. What would I do with two batteries? The salesman mentioned going to get the department manager, who repeated the same thing, even exchange only. I know this stores policies due to my past experiences, so I even offered to accept a store credit,
Then, one of the roommates found a job that had them working double shifts 5 days a week. Meaning they were pulling into the house as much as myself. This is awesome...
Till the last week, something happened and the job cut hours back. Now the load is back on my shoulders, we will make it, I hope. I always do.
